Our Story – From Discarded Yukata to Ninja-Inspired Footwear

Hi, I’m Sho, the founder of Indigo Ninja.

Did you know that over 500 tons of kimono—including beautiful yukata—are thrown away in Japan every year?
When I first learned this, I couldn’t believe it. These fabrics hold so much history, culture, and beauty — it felt wrong to let them be forgotten.

That’s why I started Indigo Ninja.
We rescue discarded yukata and upcycle them into unique tabi shoes, crafted by hand in Okayama by skilled Japanese shoemakers.

Our shoes are not just about tradition — they’re designed for modern life.
With soft sneaker soles and a split-toe design, they’re incredibly comfortable and made to move.
Honestly, I think even real ninjas would be impressed.

This project is about more than shoes.
It’s about honoring craftsmanship, preserving culture, and giving new life to something once left behind.

I hope you’ll join us — and step into a story that continues with every pair.
